The Good Shepherd & The Garment Foundation

Scripture: Gospel of John 10:11 – “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

Beloved,
When Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd, He shows us three powerful truths that guide our mission at The Garment Foundation.

1️⃣ The Good Shepherd Sees the Sheep
A shepherd knows each sheep by name. He notices the one that is hungry, wounded, or lost.
In the same way, our foundation exists because we see the less fortunate. We see the child without clothes. We see the mother who cannot provide. We see the dignity that poverty tries to steal.
Love begins with seeing.

2️⃣ The Good Shepherd Protects and Covers
A shepherd protects his sheep from danger and harsh weather.
At The Garment Foundation, clothing is not just fabric — it is covering, dignity, and restoration. When we clothe a child, we are saying:
You matter. You are valued. You are not forgotten.
Just as God covered Adam and Eve in the beginning, we become instruments of covering in our generation.

3️⃣ The Good Shepherd Sacrifices
Jesus did not run when danger came. He laid down His life.
Serving the less fortunate requires sacrifice — time, resources, comfort. But true love is proven in sacrifice. If we love Christ, we will feed His sheep. If we love Christ, we will clothe His flock.

Conclusion
The Good Shepherd is still walking through our communities today — but now He walks through willing hearts and helping hands.
May The Garment Foundation be a reflection of the Shepherd’s heart:
Seeking the lost
Covering the naked
Restoring dignity
Loving without condition
Because when we clothe the least of these, we are serving the Shepherd Himself.
